Gamlet Zinkivskyi. To the whole world

Continuing to create art and volunteer to support the army during the war, Gamlet Zinkivskyi creates unique visual histories inspired by wartime events and imbued with the philosophy of freedom and liberty. In March 2022, soon after the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russians fired cluster munitions at Kharkiv. The enemy brought much pain and many casualties to the city, but failed to crush the identity and unity of the city residents, their love for their history and their faith in the bright future.

When working on his mural on Rymarska Street in downtown Kharkiv, Gamlet was struck by the joint efforts of the residents of the house damaged by shelling: they cleared their territory of the rusty traces of the war and started to restore order on their street without any help. The painting on that door is dedicated to those unbreakable and unbelievably strong people who donate to charities and assist the army and civilians, the “home front superheroes” who spare no effort to uphold the civil order. Interestingly, the door was eventually taken down as part of the municipal program to replace old doors. The community managed to track down the object and make it accessible to the public.
