Viktor Sydorenko, Levitation

Identifying an individual in the post-totalitarian and contemporary society is the main issue that preoccupies Viktor Sydorenko in his project, Levitation. The artist uses the image of the unified man in underpants to explore individuals’ adaptation mechanisms in contemporary society.

On the one hand, unification means unfreedom and endless reliving of the totalitarian past. On the other hand, it allows an individual to break free of himself and to experience flight or levitation. In this project, the artist uses painting, photos, sculptures and videos.
